Unity in The Body of Christ in
Ephesians 2:6 says "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with
him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus..."
Colossians 1:27 says, "...Christ in you, the
hope of glory."
Eph. 5:30 - For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
see by these scriptures that we are in Christ, He is in us and we are seated with Him in heavenly places. I don't know how
we can be any closer to Him than that. It seems quite obvious to me that once we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we become
a member of His Body.
Each born again, devoted Jesus follower is a member of Christ's body. Each
of us makes up his spiritual "flesh and bones". We make up His heavenly body on earth. We are in Him and He is
in us. The members make up the literal Body of Christ.
The body of Christ is not an organization
or group of believers that is separate from Jesus' body. Jesus' body is the body of believers. Since we are in Him and He
is in us, believers comprise His Body.
Local church groups are not separate mini-bodies of Christ.
There is only one body of Christ. A local group of Christians makes up only a part of the whole. The belief that each church
group is separate from the rest of the Body of Christ has brought division among the church.
as when a man and woman become one flesh, we become "one" in spirit with Jesus. Each of us is a member of the body
and collectively make up the Body of Christ. Eph. 5:22-33 Jesus and the church are "one flesh"
believe the Lord is drawing His Body together in a new and dramatic way. The Christians in Marion may all attend various
churches but we are all members of Christ's Body. If you are sensing this stirring in your spirit please contact us
so we can discsuss what the Holy Spirit is doing.
A church relying
on human wisdom, wealth or resources ceases to be the body of Christ and becomes an earthly society. When we dare to depend
entirely upon God and do not doubt, the humblest and feeblest agencies will become mighty through God, to the pulling
down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4) A.B. Simpson
